WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Income Statements

  1.  PAYG Payment Summaries (previously Group Certificates) You should be provided a copy from your employer
  2. Payment Summaries from Centrelink for example, Newstart, Youth Allowance, Disability Pension
  3. Eligible termination payments
  4. Interest earned from bank accounts
  5. Share dividend statements
  6. Annual tax statements from trusts managed investments, property and cash management trusts
  7. Income and expenses from investment properties
  8. Business income
  9. Foreign income

Deductions & Expenses

 

  1. A list of work-related expenses (with receipts). This includes your motor vehicle log
  2. Receipts of charitable donations
  3. Interest and fees on investment loans
  4. Donations to charities (unless you get a ticket to win something in return, those ones don’t count)
  5. School building levies and library funds
  6. Fee charged for previous year’s tax return
  7. Income protection insurance
  8. Sickness and accident insurance
  9. Private health insurance
  10. Any extra superannuation contributions
  11. Amount of HELP debt or Financial Supplement loans outstanding
  12. Accommodation and meals costs you’ve incurred from working away from home
  13. Home office running expenses
  14. Work-related education expenses
  15. Rental property expenses – rates, body corporate, agent fees, interest on your loan, repair and maintenance, water rates, depreciation schedule
  16. Investment expenses
  17. Records of sales and purchases of shares, businesses or property

Others Details

 

  1. Bring the details of your spouse, including their date of birth and taxable income to check if you may be eligible for tax benefits.
  2. Government debts
  3. Last Year’s tax return.
